Benna draws inspiration from her interest in Abstract Expressionism, her immediate surroundings and her personal emotions to create work that reflects her perception of the natural world. She uses color, texture and dynamic compositions to trigger multiple responses in viewers enabling them to cast their own imaginations. As a New York City-based artist, Benna's practice of making minimalistic landscapes arises out of a desire to achieve peace and simplicity in her life.
Benna continues to study at the Art Students League with the instructors William Scharf, Karen O'Neill, & Larry Poons, and her work is owned by public and private collectors throughout the United States and around the world. More of her work can be seen on her site www.bholdenart.com
